From August 30 to September 1, 2024, the 20th Classic-Gala took place in the picturesque Schwetzingen Palace Gardens – an event that has long been established as a key highlight for vintage car enthusiasts. Despite the extreme heat, around 19,000 visitors braved the weather to admire 180 carefully selected vehicles in the Concours d'Elegance. With its unique blend of automotive culture, history, and glamour, the Classic-Gala once again exceeded all expectations.

Borgward and Veritas Exhibitions: Crowd Favorites

Special attention was given to the Borgward Exhibition, showcasing an impressive range of models from the iconic German brand. Borgward cars, known for their innovative engineering and exquisite design, attracted many visitors and honored a marque that once played a key role in German automotive history.

Additionally, the Veritas Special Exhibition, featuring 14 selected models, generated great excitement. These legendary post-war sports cars captivated visitors not only for their rarity but also for the rich history of the brand, which was closely tied to German motorsports.

Rolls-Royce and American Classics: Gala Highlights

Among the high-end exhibitions was a collection of 40 Rolls-Royce models, showcasing luxury and tradition. The “Phantom of Love” stood out, winning FIVA Class C and symbolizing British craftsmanship and elegance.

In the US classics category, a 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner, presented by Knapp Motors, dominated. This exceptional car won the title of "Best of Show US-Classic Car Concours", drawing attention with its innovative retractable hardtop.

Partners, Clubs, and Exhibitors: Success Through Collaboration

This year's Classic-Gala would not have been possible without the immense dedication of numerous exhibitors, partners, and clubs. All involved, including companies like Dekra and Württembergische Versicherung, contributed significantly to the event’s success with creative actions and tireless efforts. Of special note was the Junghans anniversary watch, unveiled specifically for this milestone occasion.

Thanks to the support of these diverse partners, visitors experienced a delightful mix of history and modernity. Classic car clubs and dedicated collectors and restorers also made their mark, showcasing rare and extraordinary vehicles that bridged the gap between tradition and innovation.
